In short
- •The same points a user scores: An expert scores exactly what a Pelea user would score for the same call. That is what makes the numbers comparable.
- •A wrong pick still scores: Only a pick we could not check at all scores nothing.
- •The table is live: The scoring model below is read straight from the system that produced the grades.
We record the prediction an expert actually published and compare it with the result. We never grade something inferred from the tone or opinion of a piece.
A pick we derived from a predicted scoreline — the winner implied by a predicted 2-1, say — counts only in its own category and never in the points total.
If we cannot establish the answer, the pick scores neither points nor a penalty — it is not counted at all. Man of the match works this way, because we have no reliable source for it.
An over/under pick landing exactly on the line is neither right nor wrong, and is not counted.
Precision is the share of picks that were exactly right, measured per pick type. Starting XIs are excluded from the overall percentage: nine of eleven is not a full hit and would drag the figure down artificially.
The table below is read straight from the system that produced the grades, so it cannot show anything other than what the experts were actually scored on.
A wrong pick still scores. The floor is 1 points. An expert appears on the barometer only after 5 graded picks.
